Magikana Festival

I recorded a workshop talk at Magikana Festival in Wales – From Within, From Without is a discourse on interdisciplinary creativity through the lens of writing and movement. It’ll come out in due time, but request it if you need it. There I also performed as a fire and flow dancer, with palm torches, staff, dragon staff, mini fans, and a copper disc bearing a triple knot. Here’s a moonrise from the farm, pre-festival:

Astronox Live Muse Writing

Activate Muses! At Astronox Festival near Austin TX, I’m hosting a workshop tomorrow Saturday 12:30-1:30. As follows:

Live Muse Writing *NEW ADDITION*: Participate in group creativity by getting inspired by anything around you! Bring your writing or supplies, and together we can walk, opening our senses to the world and each other. Led by science fiction fantasy novelist Eva L. Elasigue, 12:30pm – 1:30pm. (1 hr)

I will have some extra paper and pens, but bringing supplies would be best. People are welcome to work on whatever they wish as we migrate to a few different locations. I held this before at Cascadia Festival NW, and received a lot of appreciation for the experience. Looking forward to co-creating expression with the Austin community.

These two great events eluded mention on this website at the time of their occurrence: Resonate 1/31 Oakland, where I sold books at a mini-table for this party promoting the feminine in electronic music culture, and Two-Hour Transport 3/27 Seattle, where I delivered a featured book reading to the seasoned writers’ gathering & open mic.

Above, I can be seen in profile to the right of the brightly lit corner of art to the upper right of the crowd, discussing my books with someone during Naughty Princess‘ excellent set. Following are a few other highlights:

While I’m late mentioning this event, I’m doing so just in time to let you know about Resonate’s next workshop for women making music:

I read from Abyss Surrounding as a featured author, along with Patrick Hurley, for my second participation in this great group of Seattle-area sci-fi writers and appreciators! I also moved a small house that day, and wore my dirt boots to the reading.

I recently had the happy occasion of encountering someone who attended a previous workshop I held at Cascadia Festival in June 2017, namely Mind Maps & Synaesthetic Processes. A jeweler, he let me know he’s utilized some of the methods we exercised. It makes me really glad to know that someone who does something very different than I do can apply things I’ve shared!

Here are photos (by Omar Lopez) from the Live Muse Writing session I held beforehand, where we sited ourselves in different places near various activities to interact with our writing.
