A note on rights accessibility: this set of audiobook recordings is being released with a Creative Commons Attribution license. That means they are available to be shared and remixed, including commercially, so long as correct credit is given for the sample. So, these sci-fi book readings can be openly incorporated into music and other audio and video collages. I am keenly interested in any such collaborations and would very much like to be informed, even rewarded! But, permission is not necessary to proceed. Please, do.
Check out a reading of Bones of Starlight by vocalist/emcee Leland Gilliam, a.k.a. Led Lawless! Beginning with the 2nd Sequence of Book 1, Fire Within, continuing the audiobook series.
This audiobook version is the first release featuring the adjusted text of book 1, now with standard agendered pronouns for Dragons, as they are in Bones of Starlight universe. Look forward to the print reissue, as well as the online re-run (updated story straight through, doubled sections, no interruptions) to follow the original serial completion of Book 2: Abyss Surrounding.
To recap a well-discussed plan, Fire On All Sides will soon be reissued with correct agendered dragon pronouns. This will come before the release of Book 2, The Enfolding Abyss.
The audiobook project for Bones of Starlight, hosted first on Bandcamp, will start anew after the reissue of Fire On All Sides. I’m thrilled to say that this will be made with the music of electronic DJ, Phutureprimitive!
His music is singular and unique in its approach: Lush melodies drift across intricate rhythms, groove heavy beats and warm, fuzzy bass lines. Often exploring a dark and dense palette, he also manages to convey a sense of tranquility and beauty, engaging the listener into hypnotic movement and often escalating toward a physical experience. Conceived and produced in a digital environment, the music manages to convey more humanity and organic warmth than typically found in an often cold and sterile genre. Shimmering with cinematic qualities, he speaks to both the mind and body.

Speaking of Fire On All Sides…
The above logo art happened to be made in the same month as my first writing studio sublet 3/14, which taught me a lot about how I could grow as an artistic creator. Here’s to the landmarks of a journey.
On the second release (3rd sequence), the tracks have been mastered for better reading quality, but music has not been added; 1st & 2nd Sequence album still features musical bookends by Kalya Scintilla. The audiobooks will be reissued in entirety, after the dragon pronoun-adjusted version of Fire On All Sides is released before Bones of Starlight Book 2, The Enfolding Abyss.
