Manzieri Omnibus Edition 2/5

A variant cover edition of fantasy space opera trilogy Bones of Starlight is now out and available for purchase through fine booksellers! This commissioned cover is by the internationally awarded Hugo-nominated Maurizio Manzieri, who has digitally handpainted covers for Aliette de Bodard, Clive Cussler, and many others.

On the cover is Soleil, the Princess Magus, with multivariant Dragons in a moment that belongs to one of the final scenes in the entire epic.

This is the omnibus, containing all three volumes of the trilogy along with the appendix: Fire Within, Abyss Surrounding, Greater Beyond, plus Learning Country. This is another birthday release with my imprint Primal Spiral (me), and I am 43 as of the fifth. 42 was a majestic science fiction year in my life, and I’m feeling super duper, peachy keen.

The text has been improved further yet, for a smooth reading experience, with the continued radiance of brilliance of all which remains important, which one may be joyed of the expectation. The other, still-available cover is by calligraffiti artist Leo Shallat.

It’s got its own ISBN, so one may collect variants for a while:
978-1-944416-23-2
It might take a moment to percolate through the system, but it should soon be independently available.
For now, I am accepting orders! $72 + shipping.

BEHOLD.

Manzieri Cover

Feast your eyes: Maurizio Manzieri, the reknowned and 2025 Hugo-nominated artist, has created a cover version for Bones of Starlight! Featured is Princess Ascendant Soleil, piloting Moonshadow in her Vedani control suit, with Dragons in the air over Alisandre Capital. I’m truly honored.

We will both be at Seattle WorldCon this year, with panels and more. I invite expansive thinkers and magical potion drinkers, wisps and wonderers to the sea-sprayed woods wherein I create and dwell.

Audiobook Recording Residency

Okay me hearties, an audiobook recording has been accomplished and is now in production processing, however long that may take!

I sublet the house of artist friend Willow Woodsmith at The Shire near Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island, BC Canada on Nitinaht land. There, I spent a month laying track.

It was an epic reading of the kind rumored in ancient legend, the 6-day tellings in the islands of Maharlika in a 30-day sprint of about 200,000 words. I enjoyed the waterside house to myself with the company of two cats. Will be seeing how its method of delivery develops.

Omnibus Birthday Release

On 2/5/25, my 42nd birthday, the Bones of Starlight omnibus was published! That was seven days ago, and it is available online or by request through a bookstore for the venerated tome price of $72 (which is a free 1.5 books off the price of individual hardcover volumes).

ISBN: 9781944416195

This story is especially amazing in its full form, much like myself. It features another painting by Seattle calligraffiti artist Leo Shallat, “Breaking Through.”

Reaching into the far interdimensions of an alternate universe, this trilogy became everything, and I’m proud to present it to you. The final notes of a celestial symphony, reverberating along another fractal as they spiral away, sparkle with light.

Here’s to the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

Hardcover Omnibus

Here it is: Bones of Starlight in one tome – definitive and complete, one hardcover print volume with all three books, the appendix, and an additional word on poetic forms. This feels like a culmination! Featuring another gorgeous calligraphic painting by Seattle’s Leo Shallat. The cover:
