Salons in September: Black Girl Magic, a select-audience set of seminars hosted by University of Washington. In this happy hour along with myself are artists Afomiya Assefa, Hyosoon Jung, Daniel Chang, and Derek.
Also made it to this month’s virtual San Juan Library Writers’ Open Mic, where I read a recently serialized chapter. We also heard a play script, poetry, and other stories.
I’m on the pro roster for this year‘s World Fantasy Convention, theoretically of Utah but effectively anywhere – October 29 to November 1. This convention has a great contingent of publishers, authors, and diehards, and I’m happy to be presenting this year. I have a reading, a panel, an autograph in the program, and a book in the bundle! Panel below:
Writing a series can be a balancing act that takes place over years to decades. Keeping the characters, themes, and atmosphere consistent over the years can be a difficult trial for those who work in this longest of all forms. Who is particularly good at the art of the series?
